Construction notice: Brighton Street, Marlborough Road and Shaftesbury Avenue lane reductions starting September 9

UPDATE: The work on Brighton Street, Marlborough Road and Shaftesbury Avenue has been delayed by about three weeks. Work will begin on or about September 26, weather permitting.

About the project

Green PI Inc. will be conducting a geotechnical investigation on behalf of the City of Guelph. Work includes the drilling of boreholes and other surface measurements.

Work begins September 9

Work is scheduled to start on or about September 9, and take about five days to complete, weather permitting.

Lane reductions and delays expected

Brighton Street, Marlborough Road and Shaftesbury Avenue will undergo lane reductions during the project. Two way traffic will be maintained at all times. Please follow posted signs for safety. A full road closure is not expected, however, delays should be expected.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalks in the area are expected to remain open, however, pedestrians should follow posted signs for their safety.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area will remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
