Parking lot will remain open during repairs
About the project
Guelph Hydro is repairing and replacing electricity poles along Baker Street. Ageing poles are being replaced to meet safety standards in the area.
Work begins August 6
Work is expected to begin on or about August 6, and continue for about six to eight weeks, weather permitting.
Parking lot remains open
The Baker Street parking lot and the Wyndham Street parking lot will remain open during the repairs.
Permit holders and daily users can continue to use the parking lots. Guelph Hydro will block off a number of parking spots adjacent to the work area daily as they repair the poles. Please use extra caution around Guelph Hydro vehicles and crews working in the parking lot.
The sidewalks in this area will be closed during construction.
Property and business access and parking
All businesses in the immediate area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private and public property and delays should be expected.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
