At Speedvale Avenue East
Guelph Hydro-Alectra will be rebuilding the electrical distribution system along Speedvale Avenue East from Woolwich Street to Stevenson Street North. Work includes the installation of a new underground hydro structure that crosses Delhi Street.
Work begins July 27
Work is expected to begin on or about July 27, and take about one day to complete, weather permitting.
Delhi Street closed July 27
Delhi Street will be closed at the Speedvale Avenue East intersection during the project. Traffic will be detoured along Metcalfe Street and Emma Street.
The sidewalks in this area will remain open during construction. However, access may be restricted. Please follow posted signs for safety.
Property and business access and parking
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways during construction working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
