Eramosa Road to Bennett Avenue
The City of Guelph has retained a consultant to perform a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigation along Stevenson Street North and at the Eramosa Road intersection. Performing this investigation is part of phase 3 of the Stevenson Street North Reconstruction project and will give the project team an accurate location of public utilities in the Right-of-Way.
What is a SUE Investigation?
- Locates all public utilities in the road Right-of-Way including gas, hydro, telecommunications and large diameter water main.
- Locating is done by hydro excavating or “daylighting” buried utilities to avoid future conflicts and issues during construction.
Work begins June 17
Work is scheduled to start on June 17 and take approximately five days to complete, weather permitting.
Lane reductions expected
Stevenson Street North and the Eramosa Road intersection will undergo temporary lane reductions during the project. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Please follow posted signs for safety. A full road closure is not expected, however, delays should be expected.
The north side of the sidewalk on Stevenson Street North will have temporary closures during construction. Please follow the Contractor’s signage to get around the site.
Property and business access and parking
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
