Construction update: Paisley feeder main project

Waterloo Avenue to Silvercreek Parkway

About the project

Reconstruction of Waterloo Avenue from Wellington Street to Silvercreek Parkway, and Silvercreek Parkway from Waterloo Avenue to the railway tracks. Project work includes the replacement of the underground sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain pipes, and reconstruction of the road.

When the project is complete, there will be a new sidewalk on the north side of Silvercreek Parkway South. The sidewalk will start at the railroad tracks and tie into the existing sidewalk in front of the Guelph Bible Chapel (491 Waterloo Avenue). There will be an asphalt multiuse path on the south side of Silvercreek Parkway South that will extend to Waterloo Avenue. The road surface will be paved with a finished surface, concrete curb and paint lines.

Construction schedule

The replacement of the underground sanitary sewer, storm sewer and watermain pipes is complete. The remaining work (final paving, sidewalks, multiuse trail and site restoration) will be completed by the end of summer 2019.

Property and driveway access impacts expected

All property frontage that was damaged due to construction will be restored. This includes placement of top soil, sod, fertilizer and water where front lawns have been impacted.

Driveway access impacts are expected throughout the project during sidewalk installation and road paving. All driveway access impacts will be communicated to residents in advance of works taking place.
