Construction notice: Surrey Street East closed starting April 29

Between Neeve Street and Wellington Street East

About the project

The City is working with J. G. Goetz Construction Ltd. to do private infrastructure work, on behalf of the owner of 129 Surrey Street East, to construct and install sewer and water pipes to the new home.

Road closed starting April 29

Construction is expected to begin on or about April 29, and take approximately one week to complete, weather permitting.

Surrey Street East will be closed to through traffic throughout the project. Local traffic will be permitted along Surrey Street East, however, there will be no through access at 129 Surrey Street East.

Pedestrian access

The south side of the sidewalk in front of 129 Surrey Street East will be closed to pedestrians throughout construction. Please use nearby crossings to use the north sidewalk.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
