Construction notice: Newstead Street closed starting April 30

Between Speedvale Avenue East and Montgomery Street

The City is working with J. G. Goetz Construction Ltd. to undertake private infrastructure work, on behalf of TerraView Homes, to construct and install sewer and water pipes to a new home on Newstead Street.

Road closed starting April 30

Construction is expected to begin on or about April 30, and will take approximately one week to complete, weather permitting.

Newstead Street will be closed to through traffic

Newstead Street will be closed to through traffic throughout the project. Local traffic will be permitted along Newstead Street, however, there will be no through access at 14 Newstead Street.

Property access and parking

All properties in the construction area remain accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
