Construction notice: Gordon Street underground cabling starts April 29

About the project

Aecon Utilities will be working on behalf of the Bell Canada to repair underground cabling along Gordon Street and Surrey Street.

Construction begins April 29     

Construction is expected to begin on or about Monday, April 29 and will take approximately one day to complete, weather permitting.

Lane reductions on Gordon Street

There will be a two-way lane reduction along Gordon Street on April 29. The inside lanes going north and south along Gordon Street will be closed during construction. Two-way traffic will be maintained using the curb lanes. Drivers should follow the contractor’s signage. Bike lanes will remain open. Expect minor delays.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalks along Gordon Street will remain open for pedestrians.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
