Construction notice: Elizabeth Street lane reduction starting April 29

Stevenson Street to Victoria Road South

The City will be working with Navacon Construction for curb and gutter installation on Elizabeth Street. Following the curb installation, final paving will be completed. This work will complete the 292 Elizabeth Street Storm Sewer Project that was initiated in 2018.

Curb work begins April 29

Curb installations will begin on April 29 and will take approximately two days to complete, weather permitting.

Lane reduction on Elizabeth Street expected

One lane will be closed to facilitate the installation of the road curb.  Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Please follow posted signs for safety. Local access will be maintained throughout the project, however, delays should be expected.

Pedestrian access

The sidewalk on the north side of Elizabeth Street will be closed to pedestrians throughout construction.  Please use a nearby crossing to use the south sidewalk.

Property and business access and parking

All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.

Guelph Transit

No transit impacts.
