Construction notice: College Avenue lane reduction starting April 17

Between Edinburgh Road South and Scottsdale Drive

The City is working with Fer-Pal Construction to reline the watermain on College Avenue between Edinburgh Road South and Scottsdale Avenue.

Construction begins April 17

Construction will begin April 17 and be completed by end of July weather permitting.

Lane restrictions

College Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

The westbound bike lane will be closed during construction.  Westbound cyclists are encouraged to merge with vehicular traffic through the construction zone and travel single file, or dismount and walk if they prefer. The eastbound bike lane will remain open.

Pedestrian access remains open

All sidewalks will be maintained during construction. Signage will be posted to direct pedestrians around the construction site.

Property and business access and parking

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.\

Guelph Transit

Guelph Transit route 8 will be temporarily detoured during construction. Visit guelphtransit.ca for information about stop changes and route detours.
