Snow storm: What City services are running and what’s not on February 12

Snow removal

We are working on plowing primary and secondary routes as this winter storm passes through Guelph. We will monitor snow accumulation until a plow out is required where we will begin to plow residential streets.

The storm is expected to last for a few days We appreciate your patience as we work to clear the city.

Service requests for roads and sidewalks

Our plows need time to complete their routes before turning their attention to spots we may have missed. Please give us 24 hours for roads and 72 hours for sidewalks, before submitting a service request.

Report a road, bike lane or sidewalk concern

Park crews are plowing and applying sand and salt to our winter-maintained trails.

Ice and snow buildup can make trees heavy, causing branches to break and trees to fail. Even healthy trees that are structurally sound can fall under the weight of ice. Keep an eye on your private trees. Our forestry crews will be dealing with tree issues on City property, as they become known, and prioritized according to risk presented.

Storm drains

Please check storm drains near your property and clear them of debris such as leaves, sticks and garbage. This will allow storm water and ice melt to drain properly and prevent flooding.

Report a damaged storm drain or flooding

Waste collection and Public drop off

Waste collection will continue as normal. Please place carts one foot back from the curb to allow plows to clear the road. If we are unable to pick up your garbage today, it will be picked up tomorrow.

Public drop off on Dunlop Drive is open.

Check to see the status of waste collection
