Guelph police headquarters: February 2019 construction update

The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in February 2019.

Progress to date

East wing

  • East wing is now open to the public
  • Exterior finishes 99 per cent complete

West wing

  • Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 98 per cent complete
  • Third-floor drywall boarding is 98 per cent complete and taping is 95 per cent complete. Painting has commenced
  • Mockup for holding cells complete. Work in remaining cells 90 per cent complete
  • Exterior siding in progress

Looking ahead to March

East wing

  • Full completion of the exterior facade
  • Review and complete any deficiencies

West wing

  • Completion of drywall taping
  • Carrying out painting and flooring work
  • Completion of structural steelwork
  • Completion of southwest roofing work
  • Complete demolishing additional areas in the existing building to facilitate renovation work
  • Carry out exterior blue skin and siding work
