Guelph, Ont., January 22, 2019 – Sounds of Guelph, a video series by the City of Guelph’s tourism services, is a finalist for the 2018 Award of Excellence from the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO).
“We’re proud be a finalist for this award,” says Stacey Dunnigan, manager of culture and tourism for the City of Guelph. “The Sounds of Guelph video series allowed us to push the boundaries of traditional tourism campaigns by creating videos specifically designed for social media without the use of narrative or music.”
The video series highlights Guelph’s wide range of unique experiences and events, using only sound to tell stories that make Guelph stand out. Featured are some of Guelph’s most-loved businesses and tourism destinations including Mustang Drive-In, Planet Bean Coffee, Riot Axe, Guelph Jazz Festival, Na Ha Thai Restaurant and the Guelph Farmers’ Market.
The City’s tourism services team worked with Ward 1 Studios to produce the series. Watch the Sounds of Guelph series at youtube.com/visitguelph.
Final award winners will be announced at the president’s dinner and award ceremony on January 31 during the EDCO annual conference in Toronto.
