The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in January 2019.
Progress to date
East wing
- Exterior finishes 98 per cent complete
- Partial occupancy of east wing achieved
West wing
- Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 95 per cent complete
- Third floor drywall boarding is 98 per cent complete and taping is 85 per cent complete
- Mockup for holding cells complete, work in other cells 80 per cent complete
- Southwest steel structure (building skeleton) is complete and masonry work is complete, roofing in progress
Looking ahead to February
East wing
- Completion of exterior facade
- Completion of public reception area
- Review and complete any deficiencies before full occupancy
West wing
- Completion of drywall taping
- Completion of structural steel work
- Completion of southwest roofing work
- Complete drywall and taping in existing parts of the building
- Commence flooring
