The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in December 2018.
Progress to date
East wing
- Exterior finishes 95 per cent complete
- Partial occupancy of east wing achieved
West wing
- Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 90 per cent complete
- Third floor drywall boarding is 95 per cent complete and taping is 25 per cent complete
- Mockup for holding cells complete, work in other cells 75 per cent complete
- Southwest steel structure (building skeleton) is complete and masonry work is about 65 per cent complete
Looking ahead to January
East wing
- Completion of exterior facade
- Review and address any deficiencies before full occupancy
West wing
- Completion of drywall taping
- Completion of structural steel work
- Completion of southwest masonry work
- Demolition of older parts of the building
- Start renovations in existing parts of the building
