Guelph police headquarters: November 2018 construction update

The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in November 2018.

 

Progress to date

East wing

  • Exterior wall finish (cladding) is 90 per cent complete
  • Interior vinyl composite tile work is 98 per cent complete
  • Partial occupancy of East Wing achieved

West wing

  • Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 85 per cent complete
  • Third floor drywall boarding and taping 65 per cent complete
  • Mock up for holding cells complete, work in other cells 65 per cent complete
  • Southwest steel structure almost complete, masonry work on the southwest steel structure underway

Looking ahead to December

East wing

  • Exterior facade completion
  • Exterior rough grading underway
  • Demolition and renovation of existing parts of the building ready to begin

West wing

  • Drywall installation targeting 85 per cent complete
  • Outstanding structural steel work
  • Southwest street structure masonry work
  • Demolition and renovation of existing parts of the building ready to begin
