The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in November 2018.
Progress to date
East wing
- Exterior wall finish (cladding) is 90 per cent complete
- Interior vinyl composite tile work is 98 per cent complete
- Partial occupancy of East Wing achieved
West wing
- Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 85 per cent complete
- Third floor drywall boarding and taping 65 per cent complete
- Mock up for holding cells complete, work in other cells 65 per cent complete
- Southwest steel structure almost complete, masonry work on the southwest steel structure underway
Looking ahead to December
East wing
- Exterior facade completion
- Exterior rough grading underway
- Demolition and renovation of existing parts of the building ready to begin
West wing
- Drywall installation targeting 85 per cent complete
- Outstanding structural steel work
- Southwest street structure masonry work
