Water main break on Elmira Road North being repaired today

Update: October 19, 2018—Elmira Road North is now open. Water main repairs and road repaving is complete.

Elmira Road closed between Malcolm and Woodlawn Road

Guelph, Ont., October 18, 2018—A water main break occurred near 595 Elmira Road North this morning.

Crews are on-site currently conducting repairs. The roadway is collapsing and is inaccessible. Provided there are no complications, repairs will be done by Friday afternoon.

People working and living in the area may notice disruptions in water service and changes in water pressure.

Traffic and transit impacts

Elmira Road North are closed to all vehicle traffic between Malcolm and Woodlawn Road.

Guelph Transit route 20 will be detoured around the area until further notice. Due to the detour the bus will not be able to service stops north of Woodlawn Road West. Transit riders are encouraged to proceed to Stop ID 2015 at Woodlawn Road at Michener Road to catch the bus. Visit guelphtransit.ca for more information.
