Guelph police headquarters: October 2018 construction update

The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in October 2018.

Progress to date

East wing

  • Reception counter is complete
  • Exterior wall finish (cladding) is 90 per cent complete
  • Interior vinyl composite tile work is 95 per cent complete
  • Inside woodwork is complete
  • Preparation for East wing partial occupancy is underway

West wing

  • Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 85 per cent complete
  • Third floor drywall boarding and taping is in progress
  • Mock up for holding cells complete, work in other cells in progress
  • New generators on firing range are connected

Looking ahead to November

East wing

  • Partial occupancy
  • Exterior facade completion
  • Exterior rough grading

West wing

  • Glazing for curtain wall complete
  • Elevator door installation complete
  • Drywall installation targeting 80 per cent completion
  • Masonry around south west steel structure
