City lowering Speed River water levels for bridge inspections

Guelph, Ont., October 18, 2018—The City of Guelph is reducing water levels along some areas of the Speed River starting October 22 to complete bridge inspections. Water levels are lowered by opening the Wellington Street Dam.

The City inspects all of its bridges every two years to check structural stability and ensure community safety.

The Wellington Street Dam will remain open after the inspections are done as per the usual winter protocol.
