Guelph police headquarters: September 2018 construction update

The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in September 2018.

Progress to date

East wing

  • Washroom fixtures are complete
  • Wood door installation, including hardware, is complete
  • Painting is complete
  • Exterior wall finish (cladding) is 85 per cent complete
  • Interior vinyl composite tile work is 95 per cent complete
  • Inside woodwork is almost complete
  • Paperwork for East wing partial occupancy is almost complete

West wing

  • Exterior curtain wall glazing (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 85 per cent complete
  • Structural steel framing at the southwest corner, including deck, is complete
  • Third floor drywall boarding is in progress
  • New generators on firing range are in process of being connected

Looking ahead to October

East wing

  • Partial occupancy
  • Exterior facade completion

West wing

  • Glazing for curtain wall complete
  • Elevator doors installed
  • Generator wiring and mechanical piping to be complete
  • Drywall installation targeting 60 per cent completion
