Mercer Street and Merion Street
About the project
The City is working with Emmacon Corp. to remove and repair concrete curbs in front of 194 and 200 Edinburgh Road North. This work will also include sidewalk repairs.
Repairs to curbs and sidewalks start October 1
Construction is expected to take place between October 1 and October 12 and take approximately three days, weather permitting.
Edinburgh Road North will have one lane reduction
There will be a lane reduction on Edinburgh Road North, however, two-way traffic will be maintained.
West sidewalk on Edinburgh Road North is closed
The sidewalk on the west side of Edinburgh Road North will be temporarily closed throughout the project. Pedestrians should follow signs and use the east side sidewalk between London Road West and Paisley Road for safe access.
Property and business access and parking
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
Southbound Transit Stop of Guelph Transit route 11 and 20 at Suffolk Street West will be temporarily relocated during construction. Visit guelph.ca/transit for more information about stop changes and route detours.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
