About the project
Beginning approximately Friday, October 5, engineering consultants and contractors hired by the City of Guelph will drill a permanent monitoring well along the north side of Wellington Street West, between Waterloo Avenue and Edinburgh Road South, behind 364 Waterloo Avenue.
The City will use this and other monitoring wells in the area for ongoing monitoring of groundwater quality and quantity as part of the Guelph’s strategy for source water protection.
Construction starts October 5
Drilling will take one to two weeks to complete. Work will be conducted Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Some noise should be expected. Once drilling is complete, contractors will return to complete the monitoring well installation and take samples from the monitoring wells on a periodic basis.
No traffic impacts are anticipated and all lanes of traffic will remain open during activities. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should be cautious when passing through the area since heavy equipment will be accessing the construction site.
Property access and parking
Drilling activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to parking spots on the private property at 364 Waterloo Avenue.
