Guelph police headquarters: August 2018 construction update

The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in August 2018.

Progress to date

East wing

  • Washroom fixtures are almost complete
  • Wood door installation, including hardware, is almost complete
  • Painting is almost complete
  • Exterior wall finish (cladding) is 85 per cent complete
  • Interior vinyl composite tile work is 75 per cent complete
  • Inside woodwork is almost complete
  • Roof is complete

West wing

  • Curtainwall frames (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) are 85 per cent complete
  • Structural steel framing at the southwest corner is 50 per cent complete
  • Third floor drywall studding is 70 per cent complete
  • Opening for stair on south side complete
  • New generators placed on firing range and in process of being connected

Looking ahead to September

East wing

  • Partial occupancy
  • Exterior facade completion

West wing

  • South west corner structural steel complete
  • Glazing for curtain wall underway
  • Elevator doors to be installed
  • Generator wiring and mechanical piping to be complete
  • Begin drywall installation
