Inkerman Street to Foster Avenue
Metrolinx is undertaking track replacement at the level crossing on Edinburgh Road South, just north of Inkerman Street. This work will require a closure of Edinburgh Road South between Inkerman Street and Foster Avenue. Work is being completed by OWS Railroad Construction and Maintenance.
Construction on Edinburgh starts August 31, night work expected
Track replacement is scheduled to begin on or about August 31 at 8 p.m. and is expected to be complete by September 3 at around 4 a.m., weather permitting.
There will be overnight work, while rail traffic is lighter, as part of this work. Residents may notice noise from the machinery and some ambient light from the site. The volume, frequency, and pitch of backup beepers are regulated by law and cannot be altered, as they act as a vital safety measure. Their use will be limited to essential work only. Metrolinx will mitigate any light necessary by pointing away from residential areas.
For questions about night work noise, contact Metrolinx directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-202-3467.
There will be signs around the construction site directing pedestrians. Pedestrians should follow signs for safe access through the site.
Property and business access and parking
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
The City appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Any updates will be posted on guelph.ca/construction.
