The City is replacing and upgrading water mains on Eramosa Road and Glenhill Place.
Construction will take place on Eramosa Road and Glenhill Place including on the easement on Guelph General Hospital’s property. Work this year includes:
- Installing one water main and replacing another on Eramosa Road between Metcalfe Road and Glenhill Place;
- Replacing a water main on Glenhill Place and the Guelph General Hospital easement;
- Connecting Guelph General Hospital to the new water main.
Construction begins May 24
Construction will take about one month, May 24 through the end of June, weather permitting.
Lane reductions and detours
Eramosa Road will be closed from Metcalfe Street to Glenhill Place from May 24 to the end of June. The detour for car traffic is along Woolwich Street, Speedvale Avenue and Stevenson Street. Local traffic will be allowed through the closure on Eramosa Road.
The intersection of Metcalfe Street and Eramosa Road will be closed to all traffic from May 24 to June 11.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction.
Property and business access
All businesses in the construction area remain open and accessible throughout construction.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.
Guelph Transit route 13 Victoria Road Recreation Centre will be temporarily detoured during construction. Visit guelphtransit.ca for information about stop changes and route detours.
There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
The City appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Any updates will be posted on guelph.ca/construction.
