The renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in June 2018.
Progress to date
East wing
- Ceramic flooring work complete
- Ceiling complete
- Men’s washroom and shower partition complete
- Rooftop HVAC unit installed
- Washroom fixtures 80 per cent complete
- Wood door installation, including hardware, 80 per cent complete
- Sheet vinyl flooring 75 per cent complete
- Painting 60 per cent complete
- Exterior wall finish (cladding) 60 per cent complete
- Front entrance flooring poured and sidewalk complete
West wing
- Roof on new addition complete
- Exterior brickwork complete
- Lower windows installed
- Detention cell doors and frames installed
- Generator frame complete and generator installed
- Curtainwall frames (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) 25 per cent complete
Looking ahead to July
East wing
- Sheet vinyl flooring, carpet and painting will be completed
- Fixed cabinets, countertops, shelves etc. will be installed
- Washrooms fixtures (toilets, sinks, etc.) will be installed
- Exterior wall finish (cladding and limestone) will be completed
- Roof over existing wing will be completed
West wing
- Steel framing installation continues on the east corner
- Generators will wired to the building
- Third and fourth floor curtainwall frame (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) will be near completion
- Detention cells painting will be about 50 per cent complete
