Construction notice: Arthur Street South closed for sewer and water pipe installation

Guelph Junction Railway/Elizabeth Street to Cross Street

The City is working with Drexler Construction Limited to undertake private infrastructure work on behalf of Fusion Homes to construct sewer and water pipes for new homes along Arthur Street South.

Road closed May 28

Work is expected to start on or about Monday, May 28 and continue for about two weeks, weather permitting.

Arthur Street South will be closed to through traffic at two locations on Arthur Street between Elizabeth Street and Cross Street. These closures will happen at different times. Local access will be maintained for people living between Elizabeth Street and Cross Street. People living outside the closure area are asked to detour around the closure via Neeve or Duke Streets.

Pedestrian access

Pedestrian sidewalk access will be maintained.

Property access and parking

The project requires a road closure at two locations however the closures will not occur at the same time. All properties in the construction will remain accessible throughout construction.

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

On-street parking will not be permitted in the work area for duration of the work.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
