Guelph police headquarters: February 2018 construction update

The three-year renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in February 2018.

Progress to date

East wing addition

  • Aluminum caps on glass frames are installed
  • Drywall framing/board and taping is almost complete
  • Roof above firing range almost complete
  • Paint and wall finish is 20 per cent complete
  • Ceramic floor tile installation is 20 per cent complete
  • Started installation on mechanical and electrical fixtures, and trims

West wing addition

  • Third and fourth floor framing for curtainwall (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) is 30 per cent complete
  • Detention cell is nearly complete

Looking ahead to March

East wing addition

  • Final installation of the roof top HVAC unit
  • Continue finishes on walls and floors
  • Install doors and hardware
  • Install new generators

West wing addition

  • Install last section of new detention cells
  • Start southwest steel framing
  • Start roofing membrane
  • Continue curtainwall (non-structural outer covering of a building for weather protection) framing
