No northbound traffic between Emma and Speedvale
Update, January 8, 2018, 3:20 p.m.—The water main break has now been repaired. Crews are working to repair the road. Stevenson Street North will reopen to northbound traffic after 6 p.m.
Guelph, Ont., January 8, 2018—A water main break occurred on Stevenson Street North just north of Emma Street early this morning. There are no health risks as a result of the break.
Traffic and transit impacts
The northbound lane of Stevenson Street North is closed between Emma Street and Speedvale Avenue. Drivers are asked to detour around the area via Eramosa Road, Victoria Road and Speedvale Avenue.
Transit route 12 General Hospital is being detoured. Buses will continue on Delhi Street past Emma Street and turn east onto Speedvale Avenue. Stops along Emma Street (1207 and 1208) will not be in service until after the road is repaired and reopened. Visit guelph.ca/transit for more information and updates.
Repairs are underway and expected to completed today.
Minor changes in water pressure may be experienced in some areas of the city, and nearby homes and Edward Johnson Public School will likely see a short-term water interruption during repairs. Those affected by a water shut off will be notified.
