The three year renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in October 2017.
Progress to date
West wing addition
- Tower crane removed
- Concrete roof poured; cement-slurry topping added to waterproof and protect
- Interior framing of third floor offices
- Masonry walls underway
- 75% of slab on grade complete
- Staircase extension in existing building complete
- Generators delivered to site; steel framing to house generators 50% complete
- Mechanical and electrical rough-ins for third and fourth floors 70% complete
East wing addition
- New Farquhar entrance opening created and stairs poured
- Masonry walls of public washroom 80% complete with mechanical rough-in
- Steel framework complete
- Employee entrance stairs from Fountain Street complete
- Site preparation for new front entrance
- Exterior framing and sheathing installed
- All roof parapets installed
Looking ahead
West wing addition
- Exterior masonry work continues
- Roof membrane installed and water tight
- Install elevator
- Begin steel framing on south east corner
- Finish steel framing and deck for generator, install roof
East wing addition
- Aluminum curtain wall to be installed
- Pour concrete slab for plaza and south entrance
