Woodlawn Road’s eastbound lane will be closed at Silvercreek Parkway for restoration of a waterworks trench. Trenches are caused by water main breaks and are left for a period of time for the ground to settle before permanent repairs are made.

Road work is expected to start on or about September 19 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting. The eastbound lane of Woodlawn road is expected to open after asphalt repairs have been made, likely later that afternoon.

Eastbound traffic on Woodlawn Road to be detoured

Woodlawn road will be reduced to the westbound lane only between Silvercreek Parkway and Dawson Road. All eastbound traffic will be detoured via Silvercreek Parkway, Speedvale Avenue and Edinburgh Road.

Some noise due to equipment movement may be expected during work hours. The contractor will make every effort to minimize noise.

Property access and parking

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways in the construction area during working hours (7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

Guelph Transit

Guelph Transit route 17 will be temporarily detoured during construction. Visit for information about stop changes and route detours.

No impacts to City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction.

The City appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Project details and any updates will be posted on
