Construction notice: Park Lane and Chapel Lane paving starts September 19

Road work begins September 19

Chapel Lane and Park Lane will be closed for construction for surface improvements. Rough areas have been marked off and road work is expected to begin Tuesday, September 19 for about three days, weather permitting.

Property access and parking

The entrance and access to Park Lane and Chapel Lane will be closed starting September 19 and will be open to pedestrian traffic later that evening, weather permitting. All asphalt repairs will be completed by September 21. All effected parking will be moved to the Baker Street parking lot via the main Baker Street entrance only. The following restrictions will be in effect for property access and parking:

  • Businesses with parking on Park Lane and permit holders for the Wyndham Street parking lot will not have access to their regular parking spaces.
  • Access to the Wellington County building parking lot will be limited due to lane closure on Chapel Lane.
  • Businesses with parking on Chapel Lane will not have access.
  • Pedestrian access to Chapel Lane from BMO bank will be closed as well as the pedestrian walkway from Wyndham Street to Chapel Lane.

Construction activities and equipment movement may temporarily impact access to private property and delays should be expected.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction, including Guelph Transit. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
