A map showing construction at the intersection of Macdonell Street and Wellington that will result in lane reductions and a closed right turn lane from Wellington Street onto Macdonell Street.The City of Guelph and Guelph Junction Railway (GJR) will be completing scheduled updates to railway crossings throughout the city starting in October. Signal replacement for the rail crossing at Macdonell Street and Wellington Street is a part of these annual signal upgrades.

Construction on Macdonell Street starts October 13

Signal upgrades to the railway crossing at Macdonell Street and Wellington Street are expected to start on or about October 13 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Lanes reductions

Macdonell Street and Wellington Street will remain open to traffic during signal upgrades, however, there will be a reduced number of lanes.

One of the westbound lanes on Macdonell will be reduced first, followed by an eastbound lane reduction once the first set of upgrades are completed.

The right turning lane from Wellington Street onto Macdonell Street will be closed.
