Guelph police headquarters: August 2017 construction update

The three year renovation and expansion of Guelph Police Service’s headquarters is underway. Here is a summary of the work completed in August 2017.

Progress to date

West wing addition

  • Finished pouring concrete slab for fourth floor
  • Pouring concrete roof
  • Preparing to pour concrete floor in parking garage
  • Demolished existing stair and south wall next to Fountain Street entrance
  • Installed new sprinkler room main
  • Drywall framing for third floor offices underway

East wing addition

  • Steel framework and roof deck complete
  • Second level composite floor complete
  • Site servicing and backfilling 50 per cent complete

Looking ahead

West wing addition

  • Finish pouring concrete for roof and garage floor
  • Complete tunnel foundation walls, columns and stair extension
  • Finish steel framework around generator
  • Install generator fuel tank
  • Complete foundation wall and columns
  • Complete all major formwork
  • Finish steel installation over firing range

East wing addition

  • Install roofing parapet and roof
  • Finish site services
