Ellis Creek Park construction

September 28, 2017

In late June, the City of Guelph started the development and construction of Ellis Creek Park, located at 59 Westra Drive.

The construction project includes the installation of playground equipment, asphalt and concrete pathways, shade features, seating areas, tree planting and naturalized plantings.

During construction, there will be periodic closures of the existing trail. Residents are not permitted inside the construction fencing that marks the active construction zone. Once the fencing is removed, the entire park space will be accessible to the public.

The work is being done by Euro Landscape Construction and Grounds Inc. and is expected to be completed by mid to late October 2017, weather depending. The project was originally expected to be done by September 30. However, unexpected geotechnical (soil and subgrade) issues and fabrication of the trellis structures have caused a slight delay in the project’s completion.
