UPDATE Construction notice: Speedvale Avenue West lane addition and paving starts September 5

Speedvale Avenue West will be under construction east of Elmira Road North to remove the gravel shoulder adjacent to the eastbound lane. An additional eastbound lane will be constructed and laneways will be repaved. All work will take place on City property.

Road work is expected to start on or about September 5 and continue for about three weeks, weather permitting.

Two-way traffic will be maintained

There will be a lane reduction, however, two-way traffic will be maintained. Delays should be expected.

Some noise due to equipment movement may be expected during work hours. The contractor will make every effort to minimize noise.

Property access and parking

Every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways within the work area during working hours. Temporary delays due to road work and equipment movement should be expected. All driveway access will be restored at the end of each work day.

On-street parking will not be permitted in the work area for duration of the work.

City services

There will be no interruption to any City services during construction, including Guelph Transit. Waste collection will not be affected. Please continue to place your green, blue and grey carts at the curb, as per your regular schedule.
