Guelph, Ont, June 6, 2017 – The City of Guelph announced today the selection of Trevor Lee as its new deputy chief administrative officer (DCAO) of Corporate Services following an extensive search and evaluation of potential candidates.
Trevor Lee comes to the City from the Elliott Community—Guelph’s independent living, supported living and nursing care home—where he has served as chief executive officer for 18 years. Prior to serving as CEO, Trevor was the organization’s Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in chartered accountancy studies, and is a recognized senior administrator with credentials from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
“Trevor is a seasoned financial executive who brings the right balance of senior experience, leadership, and deep familiarity with our community to the City of Guelph,” says Guelph chief administrative officer, Derrick Thomson.
Trevor’s list of community affiliations is long: he is treasurer and a 16-year board member of Rotary Club of Guelph; he is on the board of directors for the Guelph Junction Railway; and he remains active as a mentor for the school of finance and accountancy with his alma mater, the University of Waterloo.
At the Elliott Community Trevor led a number of significant initiatives, including the redevelopment of the long-term care residence and expansion of the retirement residence; accreditation by an internationally recognized body; and the stabilization and growth of the financial structure for the organization.
Trevor’s first day with the City of Guelph is June 26.
