Construction Notice: Police headquarters rock removal

About the project

Guelph Police Service (GPS) headquarters is currently undergoing a three-year expansion and renovation to meet the needs of our community’s police services today and 25 years from now. This work will bring the facility up to today’s health and safety standards, provide the appropriate space—long-term—for police operations and personnel, and replace the building’s aging equipment.

Rock removal begins August 2

Excavation of the existing parking lot is underway for  the construction of the new west wing addition. Starting August 2 construction crews will be using jackhammers to remove bedrock in the west side parking lot, causing noise and vibrations.

The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and will continue for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

The City of Guelph appreciates your patience, understanding and co-operation during this important construction project. Project details and construction updates are available at guelph.ca/gpsreno.
