Guelph, ON, December 1, 2015 – City of Guelph employees raised $58,793 for the United Way in 2015 through an employee-led campaign that ran from September to November.
Funds were raised through employee pledges and through a series of events, including a softball tournament, corn roast, bake sales, and a garage sale.
A volunteer committee made up of employees runs the City of Guelph’s annual workplace campaign for the United Way of Guelph Wellington Dufferin. Mayor Cam Guthrie served as the Chair of this year’s campaign.
“This year’s campaign theme was ‘United for Change,’ and employees really pulled together to support United Way-funded programs and services that benefit thousands of people in our community,” said Alex Chapman, the City’s 2015 campaign manager.
