Guelph’s Market Square Pavilion earns award from Canadian Architect magazine

The pavilion at Market Square has earned an award of merit from the Canadian Architect magazine.

The pavilion is located in front of City Hall in the heart of Downtown Guelph. The 2,800-square-foot facility was designed by Toronto’s RDH Architects. The pavilion is used year round by members of the public as they enjoy the interactive water feature and skating rink. It houses a Zamboni, mechanical spaces, a water collection cistern and chillers for the ice rink/water feature, as well as an accessible washroom/change room and public lockers.

Members of the jury at the magazine praised the pavilion’s functionality and simple, elegant design.
