Statement from Ann Pappert on the passing of Richard Henry

“It is with great sadness that the City of Guelph acknowledges the sudden passing of Richard Henry, City Engineer, affectionately known as Rick. On behalf of all City of Guelph employees, I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to Rick’s family. Rick was a respected colleague and friend, and he was also an exemplary public servant. In his time at the City of Guelph Rick oversaw a number of major initiatives that helped to define the character of our downtown. In 2010 and 2011, Rick oversaw the largest infrastructure stimulus program Guelph has ever undertaken. The program involved 25 construction projects, most of which were completed in about a year in order to benefit from federal and provincial infrastructure funds.
