Waste user fees change and Saturday downtown waste collection starts January

Yard waste drop-off fee waived Guelph, Ont., December 22, 2016 – Starting January 1, some user fees at the Public Waste Drop-off will change and Saturday waste collection in the downtown core will begin. Fee changes Changes to the City’s waste fees were approved by Council as part of the 2017 budget. The fee increases more closely reflect the actual cost of processing waste materials and are now more in line with current market prices. City improves public waste drop-off area

Changes offer better access, traffic flow and waste diversion Guelph, Ont., November 18, 2015 – On November 23, the City will open a new, larger public drop-off area for garbage and recyclables at the Waste Resource Innovation Centre. “These improvements are great news for Guelph residents,” says Catherine McCausland, manager of operations with Solid Waste Resources. “The new public drop-off area will reduce wait times, and improve traffic flow and customer service.” The new drop-off area will offer three entry gates: Gate 1: Public Waste Drop-Off area with an additional weighing scale and 15 waste disposal bins, Gate 2: Commercial vehicle scale, and Gate 3: Public Recycling Zone and the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
