Community members invited to comment on City budget

First of four budget presentations takes place October 1 Guelph, ON, Thursday, September 19 – The City is improving opportunities for community members to get involved as staff and Council present, discuss, deliberate and approve the City’s budget. On Tuesday, October 1, City staff will present Guelph’s Capital Investment Strategy: proposed 2014-2023 Capital Budget and Forecast. Twenty year plan needed to fix crumbling infrastructure

GUELPH, ON, November 13, 2012 – With the federal government wrapping up nearly six months of consultations on its long-term infrastructure plan, the City of Guelph is backing the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM) effort to develop a long-term infrastructure plan in partnership with the Federal Government with predictable funding to fix crumbling infrastructure in communities across Canada. Sustainable Infrastructure Report

Guelph’s Engineering Services Division completed a Sustainable Infrastructure Report covering the asset groups of water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation systems. An infrastructure scorecard was also developed as part of 2012 report which indicates the relative reinvestment grade for the water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation systems and the funding trend for each asset group. Council to vote on enterprise-funded budgets October 24

Infrastructure renewal and technology upgrades to strengthen City services GUELPH, ON, October 11, 2012 – On Wednesday, October 24 City Council will discuss proposed investments in infrastructure renewal and technology upgrades to strengthen Guelph’s Water and Wastewater Services, Provincial Court Services and Ontario Building Code Administration.
