Fire Prevention Day in Guelph is October 4

Guelph, On, September 30, 2014 – The Guelph Fire Department is hosting its annual Fire Prevention Day on Saturday, October 4. The event, open to the public, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Guelph Home Depot, located at 63 Woodlawn Rd., West. Through educational, family-oriented activities, residents can learn more about the importance of testing smoke alarms every month, as well as fire prevention in the home. Inside the store, children are invited to build a model emergency services vehicle. Guelph Fire Department urges residents to “have 2 ways out”

Fire Prevention Week is October 7 to 13 GUELPH, ON, October 2, 2012 – If a fire breaks out in your home, you may only have minutes to get out quickly when the smoke alarm sounds. That’s why Guelph’s fire department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) during Fire Prevention Week, October 7 to 13, to urge residents to plan ahead by creating a home fire escape plan.
