City of Guelph and Guelph Transit union reach tentative agreement

GUELPH, ON, November 6, 2017 — The City of Guelph and Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1189, representing the City’s full- and part-time transit employees, have reached a tentative collective agreement. “We’re pleased to reach this agreement without any disruption to City transit services,” said David Godwaldt, Guelph’s general manager of Human Resources. “We want to thank the union for working with us to negotiate an affordable settlement that protects taxpayers’ interests and provides fair, equitable and competitive compensation to employees.” Details of the settlement will not be released until the union and Guelph City Council vote to ratify the tentative agreement.
