Guelph reduces proposed tax increase to 2.37 per cent

Guelph, ON, November 27, 2013 – City staff are now recommending a $193,265,418 tax-supported operating budget for 2014; a 2.37 per cent increase over last year. Council approves 3.5 per cent water, wastewater rate increases for 2014

Guelph’s Non-tax-supported budget receives Council approval Guelph, ON, November 5, 2013 – Earlier this evening, Council approved the City’s Water and Wastewater Services, Building Code Administration and Court Services budgets. “This is the lowest water and wastewater rate increase in five years,” said Janet Laird, executive director of Planning, Building Engineering and Environment. “The City’s infrastructure renewal programs, along with residents’ participation in our water conservation programs, have contributed to this low increase. Proposed 2014 tax-supported operating budget supports Council’s ask for more predictable budgets

Proposed 3.36 per cent increase informed by formula that reflects inflation, demand for service and efficiencies Guelph, ON, November 1, 2013 – Community members are invited to attend as the proposed 2014 Tax-supported Operating Budget is presented to City Council for consideration on Tuesday, November 5 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The $192,865,918 proposed budget represents a 2.73 per cent base budget increase and a proposed 0.63 per cent investment to streamline and optimize City operations and improve service to the community.
