Environmental investigation work underway on former IMICo brownfield site Sampling starting at existing monitoring wells

Sampling starting at existing monitoring wells Guelph, Ont., August 28, 2017—CH2M, a consultant working for the City of Guelph, has started to collect samples at 200 Beverley Street this week, the former site of the International Malleable Iron Company (IMICo). This work supports plans for future development of the brownfield site. What’s next The City will conduct a full environmental risk assessment on the site, complete any short-term remediation needed, and file a record of the site conditions for potential development. The environmental investigation is expected to be complete by the end of 2018. Once complete, the City will share final reports with the community, as well as plans for any remediation and/or management needed to support development of the site.
