The Cycling Master Plan guides the development of Guelph’s cycling network. The City encourages cycling and other sustainable transportation to provide attractive, affordable and reasonable transportation options for everyone.
The Cycling Master Plan supports the goal of Guelph’s Official Plan which states that pedestrian and bicycle networks are integrated into transportation planning to:
- provide safe, comfortable travel for pedestrians and cyclists within existing communities and new development
- provide linkages between intensification areas, adjacent neighbourhoods and transit stations, including dedicated bike lane space for cyclists on the major street network where feasible
