Guelph's glass material heads to Aberfoyle for recycling

GUELPH, ON, September 16, 2008 – Mayor Karen Farbridge will send-off the City's first truckload of glass material on Wednesday morning.

A 40 cubic yard bin containing approximately 15 tonnes of glass will leave the Waste Resource Innovation Centre after being processed by the new Lubo glass sorting system. The glass will travel to NexCycle Industries Ltd. in Aberfoyle where it will be further refined and used in the production of fibreglass insulation, glass containers, floor tile filler and concrete additive.

Note: If you plan to participate in the tour, please wear appropriate safety footwear. All other personal protective equipment will be provided.
