A big part of our energy use gets us where we’re going. If we want to make a difference when it comes to energy conservation, we have to use less fuel in our cars, trucks, trains and buses.
The goals of the Community Energy Initiative, include reducing the energy used and greenhouse gases emitted from vehicles travelling in the city. There are a few ways we can accomplish these goals:
As new technologies emerge, we lower the amount of fuel we need to power vehicles – whether it’s gas, electricity or bio-fuel.
We can reduce the number of vehicles on the roads, and move people and goods more efficiently.
Knowing where people and goods are moving through the city, and building efficient rail, transit, roads, bike lanes, trails and sidewalks to get them there.
